Harvard University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem have  announced a new collaboration in NeuroAI through the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence and the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ELSC).
The partnership will promote joint research, workshops, and academic exchange in the emerging field of NeuroAI combining neuroscience and artificial intelligence to better understand how brains and intelligent systems learn, adapt, and make decisions.

A study from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has identified a significant link between maternal care and lifelong oral health. Led by Prof. Avi-Hai Hovav and the DMD/PhD student Reem Naamneh from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at Hebrew University, the team discovered that maternal antibodies do not merely offer a temporary shield for newborns but actually program the offspring’s immune system to fight oral diseases well into adult life.

Human Frontier Science Program Foundation (HFSP) has awarded a highly competitive international research grant to Prof. Orna Amster-Choder of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in collaboration with Prof. Kerwyn Casey Huang of Stanford University and Prof. Sivaramesh Wigneshweraraj of Imperial College London.

An international team led by Dr. Marva Bergman and Prof. Itamar Harel at the Hebrew University, in collaboration with Prof. Yehuda Tzfati, Prof. Ido Ben-Ami (Hebrew University and Sha’are Zedek Medical Center), and Prof. Bérénice Benayoun (University of Southern California), has identified this misdirected immune response as a central driver of tissue degeneration in severe, rapid-aging disorders. By reducing this false alarm, the researchers were able to restore function across multiple biological systems.
